Our animals are raised on pasture and we process our beef into eight boxes, each weighing approximately 35-45 pounds. This efficient method lets you invest in one eighth of a finished beef share at a great value, fitting perfectly in your home freezer. For a family of four, this can last approximately 45 to 90 days, ensuring you enjoy high-quality beef at every meal.

Take charge and select the number of pasture beef boxes you want to order. Each additional box reduces the price by $25, meaning, more boxes equal greater savings. Because we have a waiting list for most products two months in advance, we do not take a deposit. Our knowledgeable professionals are ready to assist you throughout the entire process. At San Saba Cattle Co., we raise our Brangus cattle with care, taking about two years to ensure they reach their best. Healthy growth takes time—it’s shaped by good socialization, plentiful rainfall, and top-quality feed. Our cows graze on lush pastures, with regular checkups from our trusted vet to keep them thriving. In their final 30 days, we finish them on high-quality grains before they head to our USDA-certified processor, where the strictest standards guarantee a clean, premium product.

How We Price Your Pasture Beef Box
We base our pricing on the animal’s hanging weight—the weight after the hide, bones, and inedible parts (about 40% of the live weight) are removed, leaving roughly 60% of the original weight. Our cattle typically have a hanging weight of 500-600 pounds. Each Pasture Beef Box represents one-eighth of a finished beef share, calculated from this hanging weight. After processing, the packaged cuts yield about 55-60% of the hanging weight, delivering you 35-45 pounds of meat per box.

Pricing Example: Breaking Down the $725 Pasture Box
Let’s walk through it with a real example:

Processing at our USDA facility costs us $1.75 per pound of hanging weight. For a 540-pound carcass, that’s $945.00 (540 x $1.75). Divided across eight boxes, that’s $118.12 per box in processing fees alone. Add in the costs of raising an ethically grown, grass-fed, grain-finished animal—free of hormones, mRNA vaccines, and antibiotics—plus our labor, land, and feed, and we arrive at our $700 price for a 41-pound Pasture Beef Box. Grocery stores charge $20-$45 per pound for prime steaks and average $10 per pound for other cuts, while our Pasture Beef Box averages just $14 per pound—delivering premium quality straight from our farm to your table.

What is the S.S.C.C. Farm to Table Process?
Our animals are raised with the highest quality feed and water. We do not use MRNA vaccines, hormones, antibiotics, or fillers. Our animals are locally harvested and dry-aged for 14 days, then processed to ensure freshness before being vacuum packed into hand selected cuts. Those cuts are divided into eight boxes weighing approximately 40-45 pounds each. Expect steak thickness to range from 1 1/4" to 2 (depending on the cut), with roasts averaging between 3-4 lbs. each. Because we have a waiting list for most products months in advance, we do not take a deposit. Once We have received your order in full we will reserve your spot on our next delivery date. We provide multiple delivery locations for your convenience at no cost. Once your box is delivered, it's time to enjoy the Farm to Table quality beef your family deserves.
